Attendees: Mike Kuepper, Ted Cox, Bill Click, Steve Gough, Ron Mofield, Doug Martin, Jeff Kassebaum, Dennis Grossnickle, Dan McCarthy, Jackie McMillen, Shannon Rutkowski
Meeting started at 7:01 PM at the old firehouse in Peru.
Steve motioned to approve the August minutes Ron 2nd. Motion Passed.

Steve gave the financial report. $6,542 in donations, & Cole Porter Run Expenses were $209.83 for gas, materials, and miscellaneous. YTD income is $33,887.92, YTD expenses are $28,324.76. The MAC trail budget expenses were for grading and engineering fees. The MAC trail budget is separate from the NPT maintenance budget.
Dan motioned to approve the treasurer's report, Ron 2nd, motion passed.

Mike made a presentation on the Cole Porter Run and how it grew over the years. Mike pointed out that the rotary club had a cleanup day that was concentrated on the west side of Peru.

There is some paving that has been done on the MAC trail. The project is still progressing. Only the base part of the paving has been done so far. The final top paving will most likely occur next spring. The MAC trail, even though not completed yet, is being used and is ok to use even though it is not finished yet. It’s a good sign that folks are eager to use it and are using it. Mike stated that we would like to put native plants on the side of the MAC trail to reduce the amount of mowing that will have to be done,

Jeff reported on the tar repair that has been going on both the north trail and south trail. Jeff also explained the areas that will need to be repaired. Mike pointed out a couple of culverts that need repair.

Dan explained some of the problems with roots already starting to damage some of the new pavement in the Miami area.

Jeff reported on the areas of Macy and Bunker Hill that have good restrooms. Jeff explained the need for signs to direct trail users to these restrooms that are already in place. We are looking for someone to make signs. Mike has a resource to help make the signs and will follow up.

Dennis Grossnickle spoke of the grant that Dan worked on to provide money for the port-a-pot and presented a $1,000 check that was awarded to the NPT.

Starting in January our meetings will be at St Charles School, 80 West 5th Street Peru, In. Parking is located on the East side of the school.

Jeff reported on what has happened with the building committee. Jeff brought up the question perhaps renting a building that is available to the NPT at this time.

Ron reported about the continuing work that has been done on the Wabash River bridge. The work has been done by Tim and Ron. The work is finished for this year with plans to continue next year. Ron volunteered Tim to be the supervisor for next year’s work. If you see Tim or Ron, thank them greatly for the work they completed. The plan is to stay ahead of the log jams in 2025. It was also pointed out the importance of calling dispatch prior to working on the trail.
Steve motioned to adjourn at 8:10 PM. Ron 2nd, motioned passed unanimously.
Prior to leaving, Shannon R presented attendees with a Halloween treat bag. There is a rumor that there will be Thanksgiving treats at the next meeting. 1st come; 1st served.
